Banana Republic, 2021. Made in Portugal using seaqual lightweight nylon made of sea waste. Edition of 14 pieces.
Collaboration with the street wear brand EAT DUST, we created a series of garments using my Banana Republic camouflage pattern, the art work is made of deconstructions, cuts and repetitions of the iconic image of 'El Che Guevara'. The term Banana Republic was originally created to name those countries controlled by banana fruit companies, this control was very often imposed using military force. This situation was very concerning for Ernesto Che Guevara who was preoccupied about the power of giant multinational companies already back then.
